Austin Healey is so outspoken (and often outrageous) that he has earned the nickname the Leicester Lip. He gives a lift and often a laugh to any after-dinner event. When playing for Leicester Tigers, he was equally effective whether at scrum-half, fly-half, fullback or on the wing.
Merseyside-born Austin was one of the most versatile players ever to pull on an England shirt, winning 51 caps in a variety of positions. His career as a banker with Credit Suisse was interrupted, as he became a regular television celebrity. He proved he had nifty footwork off the rugby pitch when coming fourth in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing, and became a team captain in Hole in the Wall.
Austin is never frightened to laugh at himself, and is a wonderfully entertaining and also motivational after-dinner speaker.
