One of the most gifted midfield schemers of his generation, Ray Wilkins won 84 England caps and was a pass master with Chelsea, Manchester United, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Glasgow Rangers and Queen’s Park Rangers.
He comes to the after-dinner speaking circuit armed with hundreds of fascinating anecdotes, and inside information of the greatest players and teams of the last 30 years.
Ray – nicknamed Butch in his early days with Chelsea – scored 49 goals in 695 League games, and created hundreds more with passing that was uncannily accurate. He could land a ball on a handkerchief from 40 yards.
He has been in demand as a coach with in-depth knowledge of the tactics and theories of the Beautiful Game, and has managed at the top level with Queen’s Park Rangers, Fulham and Chelsea, in a caretaker capacity.
No stranger to the microphone, Ray has been a regular pundit on television panels and was prominent on Sky Sports as a co-commentator whose opinions were always balanced and authoritative.
Ray has made no secret that he has had personal problems that he has conquered by showing the same dedication and character that used to mark his exceptional performances on the pitch.
We at A1 Sporting Speakers are delighted to welcome him to our after-dinner speaking team. He is certain to entertain and enlighten his audiences.
