Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp is one of the most popular characters in British football, whose Cockney wit lightens the sometimes too serious world of the Premier League. Born in the East End, Harry was a quick and inventive right winger with West Ham before starting an eventful managerial career with Bournemouth in 1983.

He later managed the Hammers, Portsmouth (twice) and Southampton, capturing the FA Cup with Pompey in 2008. In the autumn of 2008, Tottenham paid Portsmouth a £5-million transfer fee to bring him to White Hart Lane, where he has become idolised by the fans and hugely respected by his peers.
