Dermot Reeve captained Warwickshire to six trophies in three years, including three in 1995 after which he was awarded an OBE for his services to cricket. Born in Hong Kong, he played 25 One Day Internationals – appearing in two World Cups – and he won three Test caps as a competitive all-rounder.
His globetrotting has included a recent stint as a coach in New Zealand, and he was a prominent member of the Channel 4 team when they had the contract to cover England’s Test matches. Controversial and never frightened to speak his mind, Dermot brings a touch of the unexpected to his after-dinner speeches because he is impulsive and sometimes volatile.
He had a famous falling out with Brian Lara during the West Indian’s run-gorged period at Warwickshire and this is just one of the contentious areas that he covers.
